Cellardoor Winery’s second annual Vinfest in Lincolnville was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The two-day event kicked off with an outdoor harvest dinner-dance for 150 guests inside a beautiful chandelier-filled tent in the vineyard. A three-course dinner (paired with Cellardoor wines) was prepared by local chefs Michael Salmon of Hartstone Inn in Camden, Melody Wolfertz of In Good Company in Rockland, and Lawrence Klang of Natalie’s at Camden Harbour Inn. After dinner, the Maine Pro Musica orchestra, led by conductor Janna Vinfest_20091002_0238_loresHymes of Rockport, got guests onto the dance floor with their program of big band and dance music. Trillium Caterers of Belfast capped off the evening with desserts paired with Cellardoor’s new Serendipity dessert wine, and the sweets continued with chocolate truffle favors by Chef Bryan Dame of The Edge Restaurant in Lincolnville. The next day, activities included grape stomping, a homemade wine competition, tastings, lunch by Riverfront Barbeque & Grille of Augusta, wine cellar tours, live music, farm stands, and hot-air balloon rides.
