The rooms featured in It’s Beautiful Here by Megan Morton (Thames and Hudson, 2018) belong to a “motley crew of renters, Barbie Dreamhouse owners, tone-trained magicians, and accidental interior heroes.” Morton explains in her introduction that the rooms are not about style or money but about how the interior makes you feel. This kid’s room includes an eclectic mix of objects, styles, and colors meant to evoke a happy feeling. Bright colors give this room a feeling of being endlessly playful. Don’t be afraid to pair a pom-pom throw with a midcentury chair, or kitschy flamingo lights with a dream catcher.
