Architalx, an organization dedicated to providing educational programs in the fields of architecture and design, is running a weekly lecture series March 29 through April 26. The lineup showcases leaders in the architecture and design fields with the intention of inspiring dialogue among Maine’s architects and creative individuals alike.

Barridoff Galleries’ art auction will be held April 25 at Maine College of Art’s Institute of Contemporary Art and will feature paintings by Monhegan artists of the mid-twentieth century, as well as various fine European and American works of art. The proceeds will go to the Monhegan Museum and Maine College of Art programs.

Waterfall Arts, a contemporary arts center in Belfast, recently received a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.  The center will use the money to enhance their facility by developing additional classes, residences, exhibitions, and art and cultural events for the midcoast.

The Portland Society of Architects will be hosting its Spring Social on Thursday, May 3, to unite current and new members. The organization comprises architects, engineers, professional designers, and individuals who promote progress and economic development in Greater Portland by encouraging innovation and vision in design and planning.
