Jonathan Adler is a modern-day style icon, best known for his extravagant yet playful designs. In a Greenwich Village apartment he shares with his partner, designer Simon Doonan, Adler has created a dazzling interior filled with bright colors, bold furniture, and an assortment of ornate objects (as showcased in The House of Glam, Gestalten, 2019). “Of course you can expect glitz and glamor as you trip from one room to the next, but there is also a good measure of class, refinement, and charm,” the author says. In the duo’s living room, Alder pairs a black and white checked rug with mustard curtains and ivory boucle sofas. A green velvet Elda Chair by Joe Colombo and whimsical glass decor add color to every corner. Natural stone and metallic accents create depth and texture while rich blue poufs and gradient-hued sconces tie it all together.
