Maine architecture

Midcentury Makeover

The exterior of this 1960s house in Falmouth was renovated by architect Kevin Browne and builder Josh Sevigny with a mix of white cedar shiplap and horizontal cement
board siding in blue gray, which pairs well with the original stone façade of the garage. Homeowner Ben Donovan reworked the property’s natural water feature, reconstructing retaining walls and waterfalls,
reworking the plantings to include only native Maine species, and building a stone bridge. “It’s like his yoga,” says his wife, Leslie.
