Portland-based Angela Adams has designed a new line of bedding for Anthropologie, the popular women’s retailer run by Urban Outfitters. According to Adams, the quilts, shams, and sheets celebrate chickadees and seagulls, two birds that call Maine home.

Buxton-based landscape designer Ted Carter of Carter Design Group has coauthored a book with Ellen Gunter titled Reunion: How We Heal Our Broken Connection to the Earth. Carter and Gunter spent more than two years interviewing organic and biodynamic farmers, environmentalists, filmmakers, authors, farming advocates, teachers, and spiritual leaders to understand how a connection to the earth is present in our lives and how we can begin to see it ourselves.

Bar Harbor landscape architect Bruce John Riddell has been awarded the 2010 American Horticultural Society’s Landscape Design Award. The award recognizes an individual whose work has demonstrated and promoted the value of sound horticultural practices in the field of landscape architecture. Riddell’s firm LandArt has worked on private gardens in the coastal region, as well as popular sites such as the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay.
