Atlantic Design Center opens a new showroom in York
In October, the Atlantic Design Center (a division of family-owned Eldredge Lumber) in York celebrated its grand opening with governor John Baldacci in attendance. The 6,000-square-foot showroom features full-scale kitchen, bath, living room, and mudroom displays and is the largest design center north of Boston, with nine designers and a support staff of four. Governor Baldacci said of the opening, “There aren’t very many businesses expanding like this, and that’s why I wanted to be here to recognize a business that is growing strong and vibrant. Although Maine’s unemployment is high, it is stable and will continue to be, because there has been an aggressive approach to economic development in the state.”
