TURNOUT-ANTIQUES IN THE GARDEN-October 2009

A night filled with antique treasures and culinary treats
On the picture-perfect evening of July 9, partygoers moved from billowing tent to billowing tent to delight in a moveable feast of antiques-viewing and delicious food and drink. The party was held in the heart of the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens as a preview to the weekend-long Antiques in the Garden event presented by the Maine Antiques Dealers Association and the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. Twenty-four food and drink purveyors provided a long list of offerings—from wine and Moxie to lobster bisque and artisan cheeses—interspersed amid antique barometers, period furniture, nineteenth-century paintings, and more from forty exhibitors. Proceeds supported the continued growth of the gardens.
