A Pile of Leaves
Designer power couple Jason Fulford and Tamara Shopsin have collaborated on artwork ranging from illustrations for The New Yorker and the New York Times to photography books to highly inventive board books for babies and children. A Pile of Leaves, published in partnership with the Whitney Museum of American Art—which has an excellent book shop on the first floor—is inspired by the way artists see the world. With see-through pages, each layer, whether it’s a red oak leaf, a green birch, or a yellow willow, hides something underneath. Can you find the mitten? The grasshopper? And look! That’s where mommy lost her keys.
