“The trusses land on a large principal plate that runs the entire length of the room,” explains framer Jamie Nadeau; “To accomplish this, we joined two timbers together using a scarf joint. We wedged this joint with mahogany, which is a nice contrasting detail you see in the center core of the home. These plates were braced in the corners by large floor-to-ceiling knee braces, which also gives the frame a unique style.”
