added skylights to the overhang (opposite). “It looks like it’s
always been there,” says one homeowner. “But the engineering
is so intense.” Even in the harshest storm, the porch will stay put,
thanks to the steel brackets that attach it to the house and the steel
supports that anchor it to the ground.
