A historic opera house, Biddeford’s City Theater was designed by Maine architect John Calvin Stevens and became a movie house in
the 1930s. After it closed in the early 1960s, it was a storage facility for the city until local efforts to restore it began in 1977. It now offers a range of live
performances and movie screenings.
