Little House, Big Project

The sectional from Simply Home divides the seating area from the kitchen work area. “We were lucky that the tiny sectional came in pieces,” says Banks, who chose performance fabrics for all of the upholstery. The lobster painting hanging above is by Erin McGee Ferrell. The bench of the banquet, fabricated by Freeport Woodworking, the in-house woodworking department of Taggart Construction, is made of teak and holly, a nod to the striated wood on Hinckley boats. (Banks herself owns a Picnic Boat.) The bench seats flip open to reveal storage underneath, and the dining table is on wheels, so it can move easily if needed.
