Purdy chose a large painting of a wave as focal point for the living room and to interrupt the brick of the dominant wall. He found the painting by Clarence Measelle in Las Tias, a friend’s Miami consignment shop. The chair in the foreground is also from Las Tias, though it was originally painted red. Purdy had it stripped and refinished in ebony and ash. The George V replica chairs in the background are chairs Purdy uses in many of the houses for which he does the interior design. The painting on the easel is by the twentieth-century French artist Jean-Claude Salomon. The coffee table made from cattle horn is from a Miami Beach gallery.
