Contemporizing the Vernacular
The front entrance’s walls flare outward at a 10-degree angle then join an archway with blocky modern trim that references the vernacular by using the gap that you might see in more traditional nickel-gap paneling. A sliding barn door leads to the powder room and laundry room. The floor has been whitewashed to suggest driftwood.
