The roof has a triple layer of variegated asphalt shingles, as well as deep porch overhangs that allow solar gains in the winter and solar shading in the summer. The upper part of the house is finished with cement siding that looks like a traditional clapboard. The lower part is a pre- dipped cedar shingle that will weather over time.
