Builder Lennard Bridges cut down one particularly beautiful maple to build the house. Carpenter Bill Turner of Stonington turned the maple into a four-poster bed for the master bedroom and a large island countertop for the kitchen. The bedroom looks onto a clearing where the homeowners used to camp before they built their house.
