Dreamy Days at Wooster Farm

Benson was primarily a plein air painter, but on rainy days he painted inside the barn. In 1901 he installed a big window to bring natural light into the space. As he worked, he used the wall to wipe excess paint off his brushes. That paint can still be seen under the window.
