Nicola’s Home in Yarmouth completed a redesign of its neighboring restaurant, Royal River Grill House, with the opening of a cozy outdoor dining space. On the awninged deck, hand-braided rope lighting dotted with Edison bulbs dangles over comfy banquettes and dark wood tables. Additional seating is available on the waterfront lawn.
Sybil Idelkope is now a licensed architect with Richard Renner Architects in Portland. She joined the firm in 2015 as a designer.
Westbrook textile designer Erin Flett will be featured in a multipage spread in Better Homes and Gardens’ September Stylemaker issue, which highlights tastemakers and creative thinkers from across the country.
Peter T. Gross has joined Rockport-based Phi Home Designs newly created architecture division, Phi Architects. Gross earned his master’s in architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and was most recently principal at his own firm, Peter T. Gross Architects in Camden.
The MDI Biological Laboratory’s fifth annual Art Meets Science exhibit is on display through September 30th in Bar Harbor. Concurrent with the centennial celebration of Acadia National Park, the exhibit tells the story of art and science intersecting on MDI in the nineteenth century and features science-inspired work by more than 40 artists, including Jet Streams by Alexandra Tyng (shown).
