STEPHENS WARING YACHT DESIGN is a boat building and design firm located in Brooklin, Maine. Formerly known as Stephens, Waring & White, the company has recently announced a restructure and plans to make their first foray into the European production market. In addition to the internal reshuffle, the builders will be moving their shop across Penobscot Bay to a new location in Belfast.

From a pool of 132 applicants from around the country, 34 photographers were selected for the UNIVERSITY OF MAINE MUSEUM OF ART’S Photo National 2011 exhibition. This unique collection demonstrates the wide variety of contemporary photographic processes and approaches. The museum, located in Bangor, will hold the exhibition from June 24 to September 24.

CANAL 5 STUDIO, a new architecture, planning, and interior design firm, opened for business this past March. The firm’s founders are associated with recent AIA award-winning projects such as 123 Middle Street, Maine Heart Surgical Assoiates, and the USM John Mitchell Center. Their new offices are located in Portland’s Old Port.

In an effort to better understand how Facebook influences our relationships with others, Portland-based artist TANJA ALEXIA HOLLANDER has embarked on an audacious project to photograph each and every one of her Facebook friends. After photographing each person, she requests that they change their profile picture to her portrait. The Are You Really My Friend? project is funded in part by the Maine Arts Commission.
